A. Louis Rubin
DIRECTOR, BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT

"Without a strategy, life has no meaning" reads the tattoo Lou exposes only at industry functions. Lou takes an analytical approach even at home, where he’s learned to dress 13 seconds faster by positioning his shoes at a 49º angle to his bed.

It’s no surprise Lou entered marketing with a game plan: To serve on the client and the agency side of the business. By the time he became The Gate’s Director of Business Development, he had transformed many iconic brands from both sides of the fence. This quickly earned him a reputation as one of the top communications advisors in the industry.

At General Foods, he spearheaded the introduction of Sugar-Free Jell-O. At Young and Rubicam, he guided RadioShack’s transformation from a "parts and pieces" brand to a service brand – leading to a 20% leap in revenue. And at Doremus, he discovered new ways to differentiate clients like United Technologies, ITT, Honeywell and Corning.
